Today I am sharing how I flat ironed my 4b/4c natural hair!
I started by washing my natural 4c hair with the SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo. Make sure to thoroughly cleanse your scalp and wash any residue for your natural hair.
Next I detangled using the Aussie Moist Conditioner and a large paddle brush.
The best way to protect against heat damage is to have thoroughly moisturized hair. Making sure your natural hair is correctly and properly moisturized will keep your so after shampooing and conditioning I use my favorite deep conditioner for my natural 4c hair, L’Oréal Paris Hair Expert Extraordinary Oil Curls Re-Nourish Mask, which I left on my natural 4c hair for 30 minutes.
Then I used the tension method to get each section of my natural 4b 4c hair about 80% dry, then used a paddle brush with the blow dryer to finish drying each section.
I added a little more Chi Silk Infusion to each section and braided each section up and went to bed because ya girl was tired.
The next morning I did a section at a time and used the chase method the get a good flat iron.
The first pass I used a rat tail comb and the second pass I used a brush. I think this gave the best results! My flat iron was set to 420F.
My straightened natural hair turned out so much better then I thought it would and I have VERY happy with the results!!!!
